On August 15th, WLISD will make this year’s recapture payment of $80,765,025 (almost double from last year) to the State of Texas. WLISD is considered a property-rich school district. In fiscal year 2020, over 82 percent of all local revenue collected from M&O property taxes will be subject to recapture. Since 1994, WLISD has paid $272,185,512 in recapture payments.

As a way to show our appreciation to our community, Wink-Loving ISD will not be charging admission to any of our home events during the 2020-2021 school year. This item was approved at the July board meeting. Thank you for your continued support of Wink-Loving ISD. Go Wildcats and Lady Cats!

Wink-Loving ISD will post for parents and the general public, one week prior to the start of on-campus activities and instruction, a summary of the plan we will follow to mitigate COVID-19 spread in our schools. This summary document will broadly address the major points in this guidance, and will be posted on the school system homepage or another easily found area on the system website. Wink-Loving ISD will designate the superintendent, campus principals and school nurse as the employees that are responsible for responding to COVID-19 concerns and clearly communicate for all school staff and families who this person or group is and how to contact them.
