Superintendent's Message

Welcome to the Wink-Loving ISD home page. We are looking forward to another great school year at WLISD.

My name is Scotty Carman, and I am honored to serve as the Superintendent of Wink-Loving Independent School District. This is my 17th year with WLISD and my 34th year in education. I am grateful for the privilege of serving the students, parents, staff, and community of Wink-Loving ISD.

I attended Wink-Loving ISD from kindergarten through twelfth grade and am a proud graduate of the Wink High School Class of 1988. I earned a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Texas of the Permian Basin, a Master of Education degree from Sul Ross State University, and my Superintendent Certification through Angelo State University.

As the father of two adult children, Bryce (28) and Brooke (26), I strongly believe that schools have both the responsibility and the privilege of preparing students for success in life. Our goal is to provide students with the knowledge, skills, character, and confidence they need to meet future challenges and opportunities.

My wife, Samantha, a retired teacher, and I were both educated in small schools and have spent the majority of our careers serving small school districts. We firmly believe in the values, relationships, and high expectations that are developed within close-knit schools and communities. Those experiences shaped our family and continue to guide our commitment to public education.

Wink-Loving ISD is fortunate to have an outstanding team of dedicated educators and support staff who work tirelessly to provide exceptional opportunities for our students. Our district has a long tradition of excellence in academics, athletics, fine arts, and extracurricular activities. We encourage every student to challenge themselves, discover their talents, and become actively involved in school life.

At WLISD, we are committed to making each student's educational journey rewarding, challenging, and memorable. As Superintendent, I am dedicated to ensuring that our district continues moving forward while providing the resources, programs, and experiences necessary for student success.
